Who we are
SpeculaPro is a product of Spalce Technologies Ltd, Princess Road, Omanjor, Accra, Ghana. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Spalce Technologies Ltd. We decide how the information described here is used, which makes us its data controller.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the information we handle about you as a person who deals with us:
- visitors to this website;
- people who write to us, call us or send the contact form;
- the staff of institutions that buy or evaluate SpeculaPro, as our business contacts.
It does not cover the transaction and customer data that an institution monitors with SpeculaPro. That data belongs to the institution, which decides how it is used; we handle it only on the institution’s instructions. See Data protection for how the product treats it, and the section below if you are a customer of such an institution.
What we collect
| When | What |
|---|---|
| You send the contact form | Your name, work email, institution, the type of institution, the deployment you’re considering, your message, and your phone number if you give it. We also see the internet address (IP) the form was sent from. |
| You write to us or call us | Your contact details and whatever you tell us. |
| You visit this website | The servers that deliver the pages may record standard technical details in their logs: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser type. We don’t use this to identify you. |
| Your institution becomes a customer | The names, roles and work contact details of the people we deal with, and records of our agreement, invoices and support requests. |
We don’t ask for, and you shouldn’t send us through the form, customer records, account numbers, identity documents or other sensitive information.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and to arrange demonstrations, pilots and proposals you ask about. We do this because you asked us to, and because it is in our legitimate interest to answer enquiries about our product.
- To provide and support the service under an agreement with your institution.
- To keep the website and form secure: limiting how many messages one address can send, and blocking automated abuse.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping business and tax records.
We don’t sell personal information, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t make automated decisions about you.
We won’t add you to a mailing list because you sent an enquiry. If we ever send news about the product, it will be because you asked for it, and every message will say how to stop.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that work for us, such as the companies that host our website and deliver our email and SMS. They may use the information only to provide that service to us.
- Professional advisers (lawyers, auditors, accountants) where needed.
- Authorities, where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
- A successor, if the business or the product is transferred, on the same terms as this policy.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: for as long as we are in conversation with you, and up to 24 months after our last contact, unless your institution becomes a customer.
- Customer contacts and contract records: for the life of the agreement and for the period the law requires business records to be kept afterwards.
- Technical logs of the website and contact form: for a short period, normally no more than 90 days.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner; see Your rights.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Its fonts and scripts are served from the site itself, so your browser contacts no third party when you read it.
One preference is saved in your own browser: whether you chose the light or dark theme. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
How we protect it
Access to enquiries and customer contacts is limited to the staff who need them. Connections to this website and the contact form are encrypted. The form accepts messages only from this site, and the key that sends our email and SMS is never present in your browser.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Where it is kept
We are based in Ghana. Some of our service providers may process information in other countries. Where they do, we require them to protect it to the standard the law applicable to us requires.
Your rights
Under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), and under similar laws elsewhere (for example Nigeria’s Data Protection Act 2023, or the data protection law of the UEMOA state you live in), you can ask us to:
- tell you whether we hold information about you, and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete information we no longer have a reason to keep;
- stop or limit a use you object to, including any direct marketing.
Write to [email protected]. We may need to confirm who you are first. We answer within the time the law sets, and there is no charge.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority. In Ghana that is the Data Protection Commission.
If your bank or wallet uses SpeculaPro
Financial institutions are required by law to monitor transactions for money laundering and fraud. Some use SpeculaPro to do it. When they do, your institution decides what is monitored and is responsible for your information; we provide the software and, on the hosted service, operate it on their behalf.
To see, correct or ask about information your institution holds on you, contact the institution. If you write to us instead, we will pass your request to the institution concerned where we can identify it. We cannot tell you whether an account is or was the subject of a report: the law forbids that for everyone.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will publish the new version here and change the date at the top. For a significant change, we will say so on this page.
